how to get unstuck

In a funk or going through a tough time? I know the feeling. Really. Well.

Let’s get you unstuck.

This week’s steps are pretty simple:

  • Be kind to yourself. (Even if you don’t believe you deserve it. Hint: you deserve it.) Treat yourself incredibly well. Do things that serve your joy. This isn’t about you being the victim, this is about you being the hero and caretaker of your life and soul.
  • Surrender whatever is going on. Whether you lost your job, a friend, a relationship, or are just feeling stuck, surrender it. What does that mean? It means: offer it up to the world for fixing while admitting that you don’t have everything under control. If this feels terrifying and yet entirely relaxing, you are doing it right.
  • Leave room for the miracle. As Paulo Coelho says, “”Don’t be someone that searches, finds, and then runs away.” Be willing to see things differently. Be willing to be wrong about the situation.
  • As always, reach out for help if you need it. From a friend or professional, if you need it, ask for it. Stuckness doesn’t need to be a reason for embarrassment. Everyone and their mother gets stuck; it’s how you handle it and the kindness you decide to offer yourself when it happens.
