how to change your mind

Flip-flopping seems like the greatest political insult. The worst thing you can do these days, as a Presidential candidate, is change your mind. Once you choose a side, you have to stick with it and fight for it. The more conviction the better.

This is fascinating to me. And really terrible for personal development.

Here’s the deal: we are meant to change our minds. I am kind of scared of people who never change their minds… and I admire people who do because it means they’ve had the introspective capacity to consistently evaluate situations and the courage to stand up when something changes.

To be clear, I appreciate steadfast values as a rock-solid foundation. But situations, experiences, and people change, so let yourself change with them.

This week’s podcast discusses the magic of change and paradigm shifts. I talk about the sheer freedom that comes with changing your mind, and the right way to do it.

So listen up. And then let me know what you think about the episode and my show by leaving a review on iTunes.  Because that’s the nice thing to do, you know?

Finally, make sure you are subscribed to the Tribe mailing list, because a very special present will be going out on Thursday, delivered straight to your inboxes.

And bonus (because I love you): Here’s the link to the Gabrielle Bernstein lecture I mentioned.
