how to be patient & not lose your mind

What do you think of when you hear the word “patience?”

The first image that comes to my mind is a Puritan sitting quietly with her hands in her lap, waiting for her life to come, meditating on the idea that “patience is a virtue.” And frankly, that blows.

But patience has a bad reputation these days. We live in a time of instant gratification. We want it and we’ve got to have it now.

Think you are immune? What about waiting to hear back about that university acceptance letter, or that job offer, or… the person you went on a date with to text you? Yep. You get impatient, too.

So in this week’s podcast, I’m redefining patience. And, in true millennial terms, I’ll labeled it “the art of staying chill and knowing the universe has your back.” A little better than waiting quietly with your hands in your lap.

This week I go through a few steps of exactly how to cultivate a bit more patience and how to do it in a way that does not drive you crazy. Think of it as a lesson in developing a bit of inner peace and a lot of trust.
