let’s talk about eating disorders (w/ Katie Dalebout)

Have you heard of orthorexia?

Yeah. Neither had I.

This week I interviewed author, blogger, and insta-famous supergirl, Katie Dalebout. We talked about orthorexia, a new eating disorder worth paying attention to; Katie got real and shared her experiences, and her talk about body image hit me in all the feels. We also talked about journaling (the new fad that you definitely want to be a part of) and what to watch on Netflix. This week was my favorite episode so far… listen up!

Sneak preview- Katie on dieting: “You might lose the weight they still might judge you. You might lose the weight and the guy still won’t like you. You don’t know, so you might as well surrender to it and just be yourself. Like, this is the body I have.”

On being a human, a real one, not a fake one: “What people want from us is our authenticity. What people find so beyond sexy about other people is when they are real, when they are letting their guard down… That is so attractive.”

I know you know someone who deals with body image issues or concerns about eating and exercise. Katie lays down her story here with so much vulnerability and compassion, and turns right around to offer tools and ideas for moving forward. If you or someone you know feels alone in this, forward the email and offer them the chance to tune in. You never know.

And if you like what you hear, don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes and leave a review. Help me help you. Make sure you stay in touch, too!
